That’s right! Hello world! How the hell are you doing?
What? Me? How kind of you to ask!
Well, I’m trying a fresh start at this blogging business, hoping to get back to basics, to maintain a regular writing practice, to shake off the ghosts of my previous blog and see where it takes me.
I did some very good work at my previous online home, and I’m proud of the fact that, for a while, we had some decent traffic. However, somewhere along the line I got lost, I became consumed with writing about politics, most other topics fell by the wayside, my passionate disdain for a particular administration and its political party was replaced by the passion of a resurrected hope, which was quickly dashed by the sobering realities of the other Washington. I tried to just avoid the topic, but my co-blogger was only writing about politics, the few readers we had left, including several obnoxious right-winger trolls, expected us to write about politics, the archives were filled with years and years of posts on the subject, and I just couldn’t shake it.
So, the slate has been cleaned and here I am. We’ll see how it goes.

Fresh reads served here…well, if not daily then regularly!

My favorite B’ham cyclist is the guy who commutes on a unicycle…going home up Yew St. hill. I remember him last winter, assiduously pedaling in the rain up that impossible hill. I was the warm lump in a VW bug who drove past him and shivered.
Btw, were you the guy in a cowboy hat at Salty’s party? If so, you left your poodle’s rhinestone leash here.

Hmm, I guess I kinda exposed my disdain for unicyclists in my Pedal Power post by not mentioning them.
But, come on! Let’s face it! Unicyclists belong in the circus! It’s that simple. And Yew St. hill…that’s just ridiculous!
P.S. Sorry. Never owned a cowboy hat in my life, and my dog eats poodles for breakfast.
