The Year in Ideas

The New York Times Magazine has a very cool feature up on their website titled The Year in Ideas.

Their tenth annual installment of this feature is presented in a deceptively interactive format. Judging by the screenshot above, you might not think much of the concept in terms of aesthetics, but once you click on any one of the titles, the item expands, revealing a short textual description of the idea, along with a commissioned graphic, photo, or video representative of that idea.

The ideas themselves range from ho-hum (relaxation drinks) to enticing (self-tuning guitar) to hope-inspiring (turbine-free wind power), and taken as a whole it’s a fun way to learn about emerging innovations.
