Tweet of the Day: R.I.P. Sherwood Schwartz

Ok, I admit it, I’m a snob?

Why?

Because I’m a little embarrassed that I’m saddened by Sherwood Schwartz’ passing.

While many people would consider my taste in music, art, theater, film, and the little bit of TV that I watch to be snobbish or high-brow, I’ll have you know that I managed to cultivate that taste despite having grown up watching countless hours and hours and hours of Gilligan and the Bradys.

Those shows were my babysitters. They were my defense against the worst kind of boredom, for even though I was often bored watching those episodes over and over again, the boredom I would have faced without them is absolutely too terrifying to think about.

And then there was…

…the girls.

Jan and Marcia were close enough in age to the girls I started to notice when I started to notice girls, and Maryann and Ginger, well, ‘nuf said.
