Video Fridays: Wax Tailor

Another day, another new music discovery thanks to Pandora.

Whether you call it hip-hop or trip-hop or downtempo, the music of Jean-Christophe Le Saoût, aka Wax Tailor, is just about the best of any of those genres that I’ve heard to-date.

Employing a wide range of music and spoken word samples, the underlying element to everything I’ve listened to so far is delicious soul music.

The first tune I heard grabbed me right away, Que Sera, from his first full-length album, 2005’s Tales of the Forgotten Melodies. Then, off in search of a video for this week’s installment of Video Fridays, I came across the following, produced by some talented and very patient fan, who stitched together clips from the movies sampled in the song.

And so, without further ado…Ladies and Gentlemen!
