He’s fabulous. Does the bark shed every year, or have the animals stripped it back? Is has survived the winter?????
This is a Plane tree, and it has survived many a winter, as well as many an animal, mostly of the species college student, climbing upon it.
(Of course, we have fairly mild winters here in the Pacific Northwest.)
The bark on these trees is known to flake off, although the aforementioned climbing has probably expedited the process quite a bit.
That said, the tree is quite healthy, in no apparent distress, so I can only conclude that it thrives, not in spite of the attention it gets, but because of it.
Well, there, you see, the story begins to emerge:)
A most honourable subject (warts and all!) 🙂
Majestic!
