Back in November 2011, I posted an installment for my Eyecatchers series featuring a piece by Korean artist Do Ho Suh, a piece called Cause & Effect, a piece that was to be installed here on the campus of my employer, Western Washington University (WWU).
Well, the installation happened last week, and the dedication is scheduled for this Friday, June 8th, and I can’t wait to go see it in person! (WWU is also awarding an honorary doctorate degree to Do Ho Suh.)
Almost as exciting as the realization that I’ll soon be able to walk 10 minutes across campus to see Cause & Effect anytime I want, is the gallery of photos that has been posted of the actual installation process itself. Given how big and dynamic this piece is, it’s a fascinating insight into the scope of the work, the details of the structure, the complexity of the installation process, and the many hands it took to get it done.
Here’s a few of my favorites, but be sure to check out the whole gallery.
