I have to admit that I understand VERY little of the news today that the mad scientists at CERN‘s Large Hadron Collider have apparently confirmed the existence of the long-theorized, long-soughtafter Higgs Boson.
Fortunately, I don’t have to understand much in order to appreciate the off-the-charts hilarity that ensues when one of the top physicists in the world gets all metaphorical:
[Oliver] Buchmueller (a senior physicist on one of the research teams) at CERN said: “If I were a betting man, I would bet that it is the Higgs. But we can’t say that definitely yet. It is very much a smoking duck that walks and quacks like the Higgs. But we now have to open it up and look inside before we can say that it is indeed the Higgs.”
LOL!
Someone got really mixed up on his metaphors, didn’t he?
