So, out of the blue, I decided to write a poem.
I’ve not written poetry before with any seriousness, and I wouldn’t even ascribe much seriousness to what I’ve done here. I simply decided to try it as an exercise.
I have no idea whether or not I will write more poetry, or if I do whether or not I will post it.
two magnets are a crappy metaphor
regardless of any resemblance
or flesh and blood
magnets are cold and metallic
north-to-north or south-to-south
they repulse one another
despite the alluring inclusiveness
of opposites attracting
they snap violently together
held to one another by their opposition
as if glued.
construed as close, affectionate
no breathing room
magnets are a crappy metaphor for love.
too cynical, right?
